I just came across a list of "things to do before I die": swimming in Greece, giving aid in Lebanon, etc. When I think of doing these things, I always picture myself "there" and forget what it takes to get there. But I've wanted to travel/missions/aid work for a long time and I really just need to do it. I talked to my brother about how I always put things off: "I don't have enough money/ I have a good job/ someone expects such and such of me..." LAME EXCUSES!!!
I've wanted to travel forever, and been putting it off for various dumb reasons for 6 years, so I'm going to do it. But it is just a tad scary.

I think I can relate... There are things I really want to do, traveling probably being one of them... But time and finances keep me from doing them. I figure I'll get "there" some day, and in the meantime, if an oppurtunity presents itself, I'll give it some serious thought and also ask myself "Will I regret doing/not doing this?" Basically, I'd like to go through life without regrets, or those "I wish I did it when I had the chance" type regrets. It might be frightening at first, but it's just like going on stage... once you get out there, you just do what you gotta do.
ReplyDeleteTook you forever to write a new post.
I agree with Mr. Sterling ~ If you want to travel, pack light. keep plenty of cash and when the moment presents itself, you'll be ready.
ReplyDeleteStart with small trips to build courage and then go farther. Also, talk to Adrian. He's the most world traveled out of all of us.
Talk to these guys too:

Would love to tour Lebanon and Israel with you and Simon around Christmastime. It's tradition to visit with friends on Christmas morn, no?
